Meeting his siblings...

We had the girls & boys come meet Sawyer at different times (besides their first meeting for a few seconds right after he was born).  It was really nice for the girls to get some special time, uninterrupted by younger brothers.  It was much more manageable & enjoyable!  Holding brother for the first time..   Brock just kept saying, "Hi Sawyer! You look like me!"  "Give us the baby Momma!" Connor says "nice to meet you!" & Brock's protectiveness kicks in, reprimanding Connor.  Sooo sweet Love this video!  The girls' visit was wonderful. The have a fierce love for their brother... I was so grateful for their special time with him & me.  I know these fews weeks have been hard on them, but they've been SUCH troopers. So proud of these girls!!!!  Lots of questions... (ugly outfit courtesy of the NICU) Proud big sister Loving Natalee  So happy he was okay! ...

Sawyer John Barton

Introducing Sawyer John.... born Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 5:27pm  4 lbs 15ounces  &  18 inches long The story:  Wednesday, January 13th I left Brock & Connor with babysitter and headed to my routine 34 week prenatal appointment.  After three blood pressure checks, the OB/GYN informed me that I needed to head over to labor & delivery to be monitored due to high blood pressure.   This was all new to me, since usually I have LOW blood pressure. I honestly didn't think much would come of it, but i called my girlfriend, Sara Cox, and asked her if she wanted to meet me at L&D instead of Papa's Pizza for lunch! After close monitoring for about an hour, my OB/Gyn explained that with blood pressures ranging in the 180's/115's, I would need to be transferred to Springfield Hospital for close monitoring with a diagnosis of Pre-Eclampsia. The Corvallis hospital was unprepared to handle a 34 week delivery if it became nec...

The day it snowed...

Like, 1 millimeter. They still made the most of it... cute kids!!!! Minus Natalee, who didn't deem it worthy of her time get dressed...  Cuties!  An attempt at a fun photo shoot.... three out of four... Seriously, this kid is a NUT!

A Day at the Mountain

We planned a fun New Year's Day surprise for the kids & had so much fun carrying it out! We headed to Mt. Hood to meet Jacqui & Jon & their church for a fun day of sledding! While Momma couldn't actually sled, she had plenty of fun visiting and watching Daddy & the kiddos!  The drive up was simply gorgeous.   We came up the Gorge and the glimpses of snow & green were breathtaking. Pictures, of course, don't do them justice. After our trip to Washington at Thanksgiving, Brock was confused about which mountain this was. "Mt Reindeer" was soon replaced by Mountain Hood after about 65 corrections from his sisters! :)  I haven't done the snow-thing in a while.... So of course, it was bit of learning curve. I helped all the kiddos get dressed... head to toe, including gloves... When I realized... hmmm... we should've gone to the bathroom before we just did all this! oops! Waiting in line for the bathroom a...
