a plea

Remember Olga? Patti Rice has been intensely advocating for this sweet little girl. She has done 2 huge giveaways with a huge heart to see this girl rescued. Now Olga has a family. And their family is thrilled with the $13,000+ that has been raised for Olga. But when you look at the close to $50,000 it will cost to bring Olga home, all of a sudden, $13,000 doesn't sound all that grand! ): Would you consider spreading the word? One last final pull to help this family. Olga needs to be home NOW... not waiting for dimes and nickels to add up to her rescue amount. There's no giveaway here. No huge incentive of an Ipod. Nothing but hearts for this sweet sweet girl. "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you." Snow Day

I don't think I've ever been happier for a snow day in my life. No kidding. [My mom will probably refute this. I'm sure there were days when I was happier as a child, but I can't remember that far back (: ] I was so looking forward to a day stuck inside my new house, going nowhere. My girls were so excited for the snow I don't think they could sleep! Kyah and Alyssa arrived at 6:30 am today and two of my girls were up before them. I know for a fact that we were out in the snow before 8am. It is just so beautiful - a winter wonderland! We don't have much in the department of snow-clothes. It rarely snows here... and unlike our friend Kyah , we don't ski! (: So we survive the snow with layers. lots of layers. I love how bulky it makes the kids look. cracks me up. (Thanks Granny Brock for Shyanne's winter coat and running pants! They worked beautifully for snow clothes!) Hollie was in whiner -mode and lost her privilege of playing in the snow during rou...

It's a....

well... I never thought I'd be typing this... I honestly contemplated writing an "It's a Boy" post and "It's a girl" post ahead of time and then just clicking PUBLISH to the one that was true... but alas... this stubborn baby refused to cooperate today... He/She laid there with crossed legs, and umbulical cord obstructing any possible view... and there he/she lay. No budging! So all we know... is it's a BEAUTIFUL baby... and we're in for a surprise in July. I'm actually really excited. Johnny would never go for surprise - he just can't handle the anticipation.. so I figured I'd never get to push and push and hear those word.. "It's a __________". I had just resigned myself to the fact that would never happen in this family. And I was ok with that. But now... now that I get a chance to be surprised... I'm excited! and either way... whether it's a boy or a girl... I will be thrillled! I personally LOVE my gir...

Then & Now

Perhaps you remember THIS POST entitled "Then & Now". I talked about Johnny and my dating days... and a picture snapped at Starbucks here in Corvallis. The NOW was with Natalee as an addition to our family. NOW... we have 5 in our family... with number 6 on the way. I knew we needed to snap a picture SOON so we could continue the tradition. THEN & then again and here's the NOW
