Our month in pictures...
December 8 my dear friend Cassie and I hosted a Christmas Holiday Bazaar fundraiser for Jason and Naomi's adoption. It was A LOT of work and we could NOT have done it without a ton of help from friends and family. Namely, my mom who literally facilitated the majority of the funds raised. Between gorgeous handmade wreaths and hundreds of household items for sale... she really took our event to a whole new level. One part of the original plan was for Cassie to do free hair cuts while Mackenzie Rice did free family photos. The whole thing came together beautifully and was just so great! A big thanks to Naomi's best friend Jaime O'Halloran for driving all the way here to help cut hair with Cassie. In all we raised $1,500 and we were thrilled to see Jason and Naomi that much closer to their goal!
Hollie snuck in on the free hair cuts & got a fab new do!
This little guy is just a little love bug. He'll be 18 months old on Jan 6 and it makes me
sad to a) see him grow and change so fast, and b) know that with a baby brother quickly arriving, that he'll seem all the more grown up! waaaaah!
He's always up for a bath, whether it's bath time or not....
Hence, the fully clothed child who flung himself into the tub....
Next in December came a highly anticipated North Pole Party!! at the beloved Rice Ranch. For cute picture and full coverage (including video) check out these two blogs (Patti's & Allison's). Apparently you have to have your batteries charged on your camera in order to take pictures... ya.
December 12 was our 8 year anniversary. Beautiful roses and a sweet husband. It's crazy how 8 years can seem so long and so short all at the same time. Johnny was telling people we'd been married 10 years which will really seem long. 4 kids in 8 years with number 5 on the way. Makes for a whirl-wind of a ride! Needless to say, I am so very blessed by my wonderful husband. He is a fabulous provider and a hard worker. He has such a big heart and I am so very blessed to have a part of it!
Next in December... December 13 brought us our very first 6-YEAR-OLD!!!! She wasn't excited... nope nope nope!
Shyanne is such a beautiful little girl - inside and out. She is my sweet sweet tender baby. She loves her Momma and makes my heart melt with her tenderness. She has a wonderful spirit of perserverance... teaching herself to ride a bike, teaching herself to tie a bow... she just sets her mind to something, and that's it... she does it! I can't wait to see this precious character trait manifest itself as she grows and matures!
Following Shy's birthday... December 16 & 19 held our church Christmas play: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. It's a good thing Pastor planned on two performances, because a huge storm left the first performance IN THE DARK with a power outage! The second performance went off without a hitch. The kids did a FABULOUS job as did the directors! It was a darling play...!
Hollie is the lamb on the left, Shy is the gold shepherd, Natalee is the angel w/o a halo
