Quotes

My mom bought me a calendar with quotes about mothers/daughters. This quote jumped out at me because it so encompasses a revelation I had a few weeks back. "We never know the love of our parents for us till we have become parents" It just hit me so strongly one day. The intense love I feel for Natalee. It's like nothing I've ever felt before. It's fierce and deep. and that's how my parents feel about me. the revelation hit. wow. my parents love me that much!? wow. just thought I'd share that thought. because it is o-so-true. today a little girl (2 1/2 years old) who's blog I was just introduced to yesterday, died (of cancer). it makes your love for your own little one, so much more intense. So much more magnified. I was way more patient today than I was yesterday. I hugged a lot more. And kissed. And played. I was more tuned in. I was much gentler. Perspective. That's what her death gave me. Perspective. God help me to always love, and hug, an...

O the things that she says...

One day last week we were just leaving the gym when Natalee announced that she needed to go potty (We're in the final stages of potty training! Woo hoo!). So I asked her if she could hold it, told her we were going to McDonalds (to meet a friend) and said, hold it till McDonalds. Later on that week... again we're driving. Natalee: I dotta doe potty mama. Me: Ok baby, can you hold it? Natalee: ya. McDonalds! Now... you guessed it... every time we're driving and I ask her if she can hold it....? "Ya, McDonalds!" (Such a little smarty pants!)

What she's sayin' now...

I've been meaning to post this for a while. Mostly for my records/memory. I know I'm probably going to have to come back and edit a couple times as more things come to mind... but here's some of her latest things she says: Sitting on the potty one morning, just barely awake: "I'anna doe lyberty. Tuller" (translation anyone? it seems only a mother can interpret these things) I want to go to the library. Color. Announcing to random people at the grocery store: "I'm two much" I am not sure where she got this one. She used to announce to everyone that she was "TWO" and I'm thinking maybe she's heard someone tell her she's too much?? That's the only explanation I have for why she says this! It's too cute tho'! As we drive down the road "Tain! Tain Mommy! Chugga Chugga Choo Choo. Big truck Mommy! Boom Boom." To the lady behind the counter at Great Harvest...

The beautiful beach

Tuesday and Wednesday I had a little get-away! My mom had a room reserved at the beach a few weeks ago for a get-away with some friends. She had to move the reservation (they wouldn't let her cancel at such last minute notice) when her friends couldn't make it... so I got to go with her this week! (the view out our window! on a beautiful , sunny, clear, 50 degree day!) It was the 1st time Natalee really was able to comprehend and "take-in" the beach. I stopped somewhere along the way, got her out and showed her the ocean. I kept waiting for her reaction. She was literally speechless. She just sat there in my arms staring. Trying to take it all in! I simply loved the "awe"some moment. My baby girl really seeing the ocean for the first time! She quickly perfected the art of saying "ocean" and "sea gull"... She loved every minute of our trip! (Mommy on the other hand, had a rough night with an almost 2 year old wiggling, squirming, and d...

What's your name?

Here's another sweet moment captured... Maga has been teaching Natalee all sorts of things... Her name: Natalee Barton (sometimes she'll say Natalee Grace Barton) Her birthday: March twenty-two Her age: "I'm two" Her mommy's name: Danielle Her daddy's name: John Here's a little glimpse...

The Itsy Bitsy Spider and other sweets songs

I've been waiting the last few months, to hear Natalee sing... And now I'm loving all the little songs I hear her singing! Sometimes she'll surprise me and sing a song I didn't even know she knew... and often times she'll sing the same ol'-same ol' ones over and over. Today I was able to capture two of them! "Itsy Bitsy" or as she used to call it - "Itsa-bitsa" "ABC's"

Matching Sweetie

Kyah came over today wearing a very similar outfit to Natalees (I didn't plan it, I promise!) So of course I had to do a photo shoot. The girls were being so silly... it was hard to get a good shot. I love this one because Natalee's checking to see what Kyah's reaction is to my goofy antics sweet huh? They took a bath after a long hard day of play, play, play. It doesn't get any sweeter than that! They are so fun together! I'm using the same feature on my camera as my last post, only this time I set it to pull green. Thanks for stopping by to see my girl! (:
